Sky Circuit (Drone Race)
Sky Circuit is a thrilling line-of-sight drone racing competition that brings together speed, control, and precision flying. Participants will pilot their own drones through a high-speed aerial obstacle circuit featuring hula hoop hurdles and illuminated markers.
Each race tests the pilot’s agility, reaction time, and decision-making under pressure — creating an electrifying visual experience for both participants and spectators.
Combining technical skill, strategic maneuvering, and split-second control, the event delivers a true adrenaline-filled motorsport in the air.
Registration Process
- Participants must register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the deadline mentioned on the platform.
- Selected participants must make the necessary payments
- On-the-spot registration is compulsory for final slot confirmation.
- Participation is exclusively open to college students possessing valid ID cards for the current academic year.

Rules & Regulations
- Participants must bring their own drones.
- Only multi-rotor drones (quadcopters/hexacopters) are allowed.
- Drones must be safe, non-metallic, and powered by electric batteries only.
- Maximum weight: 2.5 kg (including battery).
- Maximum propeller size: 6 inches.
- Drones should operate on 2.4 GHz remote frequency to prevent interference.
- The use of autonomous, GPS-assisted, or AI-based stabilization during races is prohibited — manual control only.
- All drones must pass a pre-race safety and functionality check.
- Participants are responsible for ensuring stable signals and battery safety.
- Any mid-air collision or crash will be considered a race incident unless intentional foul play is detected.
- Only line-of-sight piloting is allowed; FPV (First Person View) systems are not permitted.
Arena Setup
- The race circuit will feature illuminated hula hoop hurdles
- The track will be designed for speed and control challenges.
- Spectator safety barriers will be in place, maintaining a clear buffer zone.
- Lap timing and scoring systems will be managed by the event organizers.
Competition Format
Single Round Format
- There will be only one round for all participants.
- Each team will race their drone through the full circuit.
- The final winner will be decided based on:
- Total lap time (lower is better)
- Number of hula hoops successfully crossed (higher is better)
Judging Criteria
- Lap Time: 50 points
- Number of Hula Hoops Cleared: 50 points
Safety Guidelines
- Mandatory pre-race safety briefing for all participants.
- Drones must remain powered off when not in the active race zone.
- No pilot may enter the race area without authorization.
- Emergency shutdown protocols will be in place.
- Spectators must remain within designated safe zones.

Terms & Conditions
- By registering, participants agree to comply with all event rules and judge decisions.
- The organizers reserve the right to inspect, disqualify, or ground any drone that violates safety or competition norms.
- TIET reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify the event in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- Any damage to TIET or event property must be compensated by the responsible participant.
- Drone crashes or damage are the sole responsibility of the pilot.
- In all disputes, the jury’s decision will be final and binding.
- The organizers are not responsible for loss, malfunction, or accidents beyond their control.
