Fastest LFR โ€‹

Fastest LFR is a robotics competition where participants design, build, and program autonomous robots to race against time on a line-following track. The event challenges teams to balance hardware design, control algorithms, and adaptability under pressure. From handling straight tracks to mastering sharp turns and intersections, participants must optimize for both speed and stability. The competition cultivates robotics fundamentals, algorithmic problem-solving, and teamwork, bridging theory with hands-on practice.

Registration Process โ€‹

  • Teams must register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the announced deadline.
  • Each team must consist of 3โ€“5 members.
  • Only confirmed teams will be eligible to participate.

Registration Fees โ€‹

  • (To be decided by the organizing committee)

Rules and Regulations โ€‹

  • Participation is open to currently enrolled students of the hosting institution.
  • Cross-college teams are not permitted unless specified by organizers.
  • Each team must consist of 3โ€“5 members; no changes will be allowed after registration.
  • All robots must be designed, built, and programmed by the participants themselves. Pre-assembled kits are not permitted unless explicitly allowed by organizers.
  • Round 1: Basic track (straight segments and simple curves). Two attempts allowed; best run counts.
  • Round 2: Complex tracks with sharper turns, intersections, and varying conditions.
  • Final Round: Mixed challenges such as tight curves, sudden transitions, and checkpoints.
  • Winners are decided by the fastest clean run. Penalties apply for deviations, missed checkpoints, or manual interventions.
  • In case of a tie, stability and accuracy across checkpoints will serve as tie-breakers.
  • Unsafe or damaging behavior (reckless handling, tampering with track or equipment) will lead to disqualification.
  • Respectful conduct is mandatory; any harassment, disruptive, or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Organizers reserve the right to disqualify teams or modify rules if necessary.

Judging Criteria โ€‹

  • Completion of the track
  • Speed and timing of runs
  • Accuracy in following the line (minimum penalties)
  • Stability during sharp turns and transitions
  • Teamwork in preparation and problem-solving
  • Innovation in design and control algorithm

Results โ€‹

  • Results will be declared by the judging panel after the final round.
  • Judgesโ€™ decisions are final and binding.

Prizes โ€‹

Prize Pool - Rs 45,000

Terms & Conditions โ€‹

  • By participating, teams agree to abide by all rules and decisions of the organizers.
  • The organizing institution reserves the right to disqualify any team violating rules or engaging in unsportsmanlike behavior.
  • The event may be modified, postponed, or canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Deadlines and schedules may be adjusted based on participation numbers.
  • Any property provided by organizers (track materials, sensors, etc.) must not be damaged; teams will be held liable for damages.
  • In case of disputes, the decision of the organizers and judges will be final and binding.
