Feature Creep Chaos โ
Feature Creep Chaos is a fast-paced coding competition that recreates the unpredictability of real-world software development. Teams begin with a straightforward project, but as the event unfolds, audience-driven feature requests are introduced at regular intervals. Each new requirement pushes participants to adapt their codebase, balance creativity with stability, and keep functionality intact under tight deadlines. More than just a test of technical skill, the event challenges teams to embrace scope creep, pivot effectively, and collaborate under pressure. By blending problem-solving with innovation, Feature Creep Chaos offers a unique platform for students to experience the realities of software engineering in a dynamic and competitive setting.
Registration Process โ
- Teams will have to register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the deadline mentioned on the platform itself.
- Each team must consist of 4โ5 members.
- Only confirmed teams/participants will be allowed to compete.

Rules and Regulations โ
- Only students currently enrolled in a college are eligible to participate.
- Cross-college teams are not allowed.
- Teams must consist of 4โ5 members.
- Teams must bring their own laptops and accessories. Internet access will be provided if required.
- Strict deadlines will be enforced for each sprint. Late submissions will not be considered.
- Teams must ensure that previous functionalities remain intact while implementing new ones.
- Use of unfair or unethical practices will result in immediate disqualification.
- All participants must report to the venue at least 10 minutes before the start of the event.
- Participants will be solely responsible for their personal belongings.
- The organizersโ decisions will be final and binding.
Judging Criteria โ
- Functionality: How well the features work.
- Creativity: Originality and innovation in solving unexpected challenges.
- Adaptability: Smooth incorporation of sudden changes without breaking the core system.
- Presentation: How clearly and confidently the final product is showcased.
Results โ
- A panel of judges will declare the results soon after the competition ends.
- Judgesโ decisions are final and binding.

- By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by the rules mentioned above. The results given by the judges will be final and only the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology reserves the right to make changes to the result if needed, under extreme circumstances, and disqualify any entry at any time in the event, it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these rules or has acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
- TIET reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act.
- TIET reserves the right to cancel the competition in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- TIET reserves the right to change the prize money before the commencement of the final round.
- In the case of any dispute, the organizerโs decision will be final and binding.
- The organizers are not responsible for the non-completion / non-occurrence of the event.
- The organizers have all the right to cancel, reschedule, postpone, and amend the show.
- Any equipment provided by TIET or any of its associates must not be damaged in any way. If damaged, must be compensated for by the liable participant/team.
- In any dispute, the organizerโs decisions are final and binding on the applicant.
- The number of entries determine the deadlines.
- Property brought by the participant is their own responsibility and not TIET or any of its associate's liability under any circumstances.
- The decisions of the Jury/Judges are final.
