Get ready for an exhilarating showdown of sound and innovation as producers step into the spotlight, showcasing their finest beats, samples, and creative arrangements! This is more than just a competition—it's an immersive musical experience where every layer of sound matters, and audience interaction is key.

Producers will push the boundaries of their craft, blending genres, manipulating sounds, and building the energy to a peak, mesmerizing the crowd and captivating the judges. Every transition, drop, and mix will define their unique artistry as they compete for the title of the night’s top producer. The stage is set, the audience is ready—who will dominate the night? Registration Process

Participants will have to register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the deadline mentioned on the platform itself.

The participation of the registered participants will be subject to shortlisting in case of an overwhelming response (The process and requirements for shortlisting will be shared with the participants if required).

In case of shortlisting, only the shortlisted participants (otherwise all the participants) will be notified of the further process and will have to follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Participants are supposed to mail the final list of members (the vocalist and the accompanying instrumentalists, mentioning the number of male and female members, specifying the POC and their contact details, along with the required sound inventory and their college name) to the allotted POC.
  2. Participants will then have to fill out the required forms and make the necessary payments.
  3. For the selected participants, on-the-spot registration by the group is compulsory for slotting.
  4. Participation in the competition is exclusively open to college students possessing valid ID cards for the current year.

Registration fee: ₹500 per participant

Rules and Regulations

Who is eligible?

  1. Currently registered students of a college are allowed to participate.
  2. Cross-college teams are not allowed.

Performance Outlines

  • All producers will be provided a sample at the beginning of the competition, based on which they will be required to create their own piece from scratch.
  • The piece should contain any 3 existing songs of their choice. Language is not a barrier.
  • Participants will have 2 hours to prepare their piece.
  • The piece should be a maximum of 3 minutes in duration.
  • If any participant crosses the given time limit, penalties will be given by the judges accordingly.
  • Producer tags can attract negative points and should be avoided.
  • The participants are not allowed to reveal/advertise their college, doing so will lead to disqualification.
  • Inappropriate content, religious blasphemy, and vulgarity will not be tolerated.
  • Participants should have their own music. No music will be provided by the organizers.
  • Props or costumes, if used, should be arranged by the participants.
  • Obscenity in any form is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
  • The decisions made by the organizers and the judges will be final and abiding.

Judging Criteria

  • Mixing Techniques (Beat Matching, EQing, Use of faders/cross-faders)
  • Tricks (Effects, Looping, Scratching)
  • Style statement
  • Crowd engagement
  • Overall Impact, uniqueness of the performance

Results

A panel of judges will declare the results soon after the competition ends.

Terms and Conditions

By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by the rules mentioned above. The results given by the judges will be final and only the Thapar Institute Of Engineering and Technology reserves the right to make changes to the result if needed, under extreme circumstances, and disqualify any entry at any time in the event it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these rules or has acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

  • TIET reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act.
  • TIET reserves the right to cancel the competition in case of unforeseen circumstances.
  • In the case of any dispute, the organizer’s decision will be final and binding.
  • The organizers are not responsible for the non-completion / non-occurrence of the event.
  • The organizers have all the right to cancel, reschedule, postpone, and amend the show.
  • Any equipment provided by TIET or any of its associates must not be damaged in any way. If damaged, it must be compensated for by the liable participant/team.
  • TIET reserves the right to change the prize money before the commencement of the final round.
  • In any dispute, the organizer’s decisions are final and binding on the applicant.
  • The number of entries determines the deadlines.
  • Property brought by the participant is their own responsibility and not TIET or any of its associate's liability under any circumstances.
  • The decisions of the Jury/Judges are final.
  • The winning prizes are subject to participation.
