Reel Making Competition: ReelVolution Step into the exciting world of stop-motion storytelling with ReelVolution 2025! This year’s competition challenges you to showcase your creativity and technical prowess by crafting unique short stop-motion reels. REGISTRATION PROCESS
Teams will have to register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the deadline mentioned on the platform itself. The participation of the registered teams subject to shortlisting in case of an overwhelming response (The process and requirements for shortlisting will be shared with the participants if required). In case of shortlisting only the shortlisted teams (otherwise all the teams) will be notified of the further process and will have to follow the below-mentioned steps:
Teams are supposed to mail the final list (Mentioning the number of Male and Female members, specifying the Team Leader, and their contact details, along with the required sounds inventory with their college name to the given POC). Teams will then have to fill out the required forms and make the necessary payments(for non-Thapar students) For the selected teams, on-the-spot registration by the group is compulsory for slotting. Participation in the competition is exclusively open to college students possessing valid ID cards for the current year.
Registration fee- ₹1500 per team
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Eligibility
1. Currently registered students of a college are allowed to participate.
2. Cross-college teams are not allowed.
Rules:
No of participants in a team: 2-3 Reel duration will be of 30-45 sec and should be strictly followed. No college name, logo, or any reference—whether verbal, visual, textual, or in any other form—should be included or displayed in the video. Prize money is contingent upon adequate and expected participation and is subject to change.
Performance Guidelines
Online shortlisting round: ResLife College life is an important aspect of everyone’s life. The registered teams will have to prepare a 1-minute vlog on the theme - “A DAY IN MY COLLEGE LIFE.”
Offline rounds: The competition will consist of multiple rounds where teams will be challenged to create 30-second reels based on themes that will be disclosed just before each round begins, with a twist of stop-motion! For each round, participants will make a 30 sec reel. The teams can explore the campus while preparing the content. Participants are expected to carry their own equipment along with them. A total of 3 hours will be given to complete each round. The theme/subject for the reel will be conveyed 30 minutes before the event. The content must be authentic and should not depict anything unfitting or inappropriate. Any sort of plagiarism may lead to disqualification. Use of any kind of abusive language or explicit content is strictly prohibited. The verdict of the judges will be final and binding.

RESULTS
A panel of judges will declare the results soon after the competition ends.

By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by the rules mentioned above. The results given by the judges will be final and only the Thapar Institute Of Engineering and Technology reserves the right to make changes to the result if needed, under extreme circumstances, and disqualify any entry at any time in the event, it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these rules or has acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. TIET reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act. TIET reserves the right to cancel the competition in case of unforeseen circumstances. TIET reserves the right to change the prize money before the commencement of the final round. In the case of any dispute, the organizer’s decision will be final and binding. The organizers are not responsible for the non-completion / non-occurrence of the event. The organizers have all the right to cancel, reschedule, postpone, and amend the show. Any equipment provided by TIET or any of its associates must not be damaged in any way. If damaged, must be compensated for by the liable participant/team. In any dispute, the organizer’s decisions are final and binding on the applicant. The number of entries determine the deadlines. Property brought by the participant is their own responsibility and not TIET or any of its associate's liability under any circumstances. The decisions of the Jury/Judges are final.
