Event Description

Unleash your creativity and reimagine the icons of cinema!
Participants put a fresh spin on legendary films through the art of design.
Encourages innovative thinking by blending visual storytelling, composition, and digital creativity.
Hands-on experience in reinterpreting iconic movie posters as stories told through colours, typography, and imagery.
Showcase originality, design skills, and ability to communicate a film’s essence in a single frame.

Register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the deadline.
Participation subject to shortlisting in case of overwhelming response (details shared if required).
After shortlisting (if applicable), only selected candidates notified and must:
- Mail contact details and college name to the given POC.
- Fill out required forms and make necessary payments (for non-Thapar students).
- Participation open to college students with valid ID cards for the current year.

Registration fee: ₹150 per student (individual participation)

Only currently registered students of a college are eligible.
Each college can have a maximum of 3 participants (individuals).
All designs submitted must be original and designed by the participants in the stipulated time window. No photoshopped or manipulated AI images from the internet will be accepted.
Prizes subject to adequate participation; committee may modify/withdraw prizes if participation is low.

Theme Adherence: All entries must align with the assigned theme or movie.
Originality: Redesigns must be the participant’s own creative work. Use of pre-made templates, plagiarized designs, or AI-generated posters without significant creative input will result in disqualification.
Design Specifications: Posters must be submitted in high-resolution JPEG or PNG format. Dimensions should be A3 size (297mm × 420mm) or proportional, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Only digital submissions accepted (hand-drawn posters must be digitized).
Submission Limit: Each participant may submit only one poster.
Content Restrictions: Posters must not contain any watermarks, logos, college names, or identifying marks. Inappropriate, offensive, or plagiarized content will lead to immediate disqualification.
Design Integrity: Creative reinterpretation is encouraged, but the redesigned poster should retain recognizable elements that connect it to the original movie.
Ethical Use of Resources: Only use images, fonts, and design elements that are free to use or self-created. Copyrighted material is not allowed.
Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted before the official deadline. Late entries will not be considered.
Plagiarism Policy: Posters must not have been previously submitted to any other competition or published online for competitive purposes.

By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by the rules mentioned above.
The results given by the judges will be final and only the Thapar Institute Of Engineering and Technology reserves the right to make changes to the result if needed, under extreme circumstances, and disqualify any entry at any time in the event, it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these rules or has acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
TIET reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act.
TIET reserves the right to cancel the competition in case of unforeseen circumstances.
TIET reserves the right to change the prize money before the commencement of the final round.
In the case of any dispute, the organizer’s decision will be final and binding.
The organizers are not responsible for the non-completion / non-occurrence of the event.
The organizers have all the right to cancel, reschedule, postpone, and amend the show.
Any equipment provided by TIET or any of its associates must not be damaged in any way. If damaged, must be compensated for by the liable participant/team.
In any dispute, the organizer’s decisions are final and binding on the applicant.
The number of entries determine the deadlines.
Property brought by the participant is their own responsibility and not TIET or any of its associate's liability under any circumstances.
The decisions of the Jury/Judges are final.
