Event Description
Silent Expressions (Miming) is a silent performance art where actors convey emotions, actions, and stories using only body movements, facial expressions, and gestures. Without words or sound, it relies on exaggerated physicality to communicate with the audience. This expressive form of storytelling captivates by turning invisible objects and scenarios into vivid, imaginative experiences.

Registration Process
- Participants must register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the deadline.
- Participation may be subject to shortlisting in case of overwhelming response (requirements will be shared if needed).
- Only shortlisted participants will be notified for further steps.
- Participants must email their contact details and sound inventory, along with their college name, to the POC.
- Participants must fill out required forms and make necessary payments (for non-Thapar students).
- On-the-spot registration is compulsory for slotting (for selected participants).
- Participation is open exclusively to college students with valid current-year ID cards.
- Registration Fee: ₹500 per participant

Eligibility
- Individual participation event
- Only students from participating colleges are eligible
Performance Guidelines
- Each participant: 3 to 8 minutes for their act (max 10 minutes including 3 minutes for stage setup/clearing)
- Exceeding the time limit will lead to point deductions
- Act can follow an assigned theme or be open
- No spoken words, sounds, or verbal cues allowed
- Use expressive facial expressions, body language, and gestures to convey emotions and storytelling
- Pre-recorded background music or sound effects may be allowed to complement the act
- Music tracks must be submitted in advance (pen drive or email, at least 6 hours before the event)
- Participants must not leave the stage unattended for more than 10 seconds
- Time starts at stage setup and ends when all props are removed

- Alignment with background score
- Emotional and visual impact on audience and judges
Disqualification will occur if the performance is offensive or hurtful to others' sentiments.

- Prizes subject to adequate participation; committee may modify/withdraw prizes if participation is low

- Judges' decisions are final. Only Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) may alter results under extreme circumstances
- TIET reserves the right to disqualify any entry for rule violations or unsportsmanlike/disruptive conduct
- TIET may disqualify any team promoting obscenity
- TIET may cancel the competition in unforeseen circumstances
- TIET may change prize money before the final round
- In case of disputes, organizers' decisions are final and binding
- Organizers are not responsible for non-completion/non-occurrence of the event
- Organizers may cancel, reschedule, postpone, or amend the event
- Any equipment provided by TIET or associates must not be damaged; damages must be compensated by the participant/team
- Property brought by participants is their own responsibility; TIET/associates are not liable
- The number of entries determines the deadlines
- The decisions of the jury/judges are final
