Registration Process โ€‹

  1. Teams must register on the official Saturnalia registration platform before the deadline mentioned on the platform itself.
  2. Participation of registered teams is subject to shortlisting in case of an overwhelming response (the process and requirements for shortlisting will be shared with the participants if required).
  3. In case of shortlisting, only the shortlisted teams (otherwise all the teams) will be notified of the further process and will have to follow the below-mentioned steps:
    • Teams are supposed to mail the final team list (mentioning the number of male and female members, specifying the Team Leader, and their contact details, along with the required sounds inventory with their college name to the given POC).
    • Teams will then have to fill out the required forms and make the necessary payments (for non-Thapar students).
    • For the selected teams, on-the-spot registration by the group is compulsory for slotting.
    • Participation in the competition is exclusively open to college students possessing valid ID cards for the current year.

Registration fee: โ‚น5000 per team

Rules and Regulations โ€‹

Who is eligible? โ€‹

  1. Currently registered students of a college are allowed to participate.
  2. Cross-college teams are not allowed.
  3. If the number of registered teams exceeds the set limit, a preliminary round will be conducted on the same day from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (timings subject to change).

Performance Guidelines โ€‹

  • A team can have a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 30 members.
  • Display of vulgarity in any form will lead to disqualification.
  • Please submit the voice-over and soundtrack at least 48 hours in advance.
  • The time limit is 6-10 minutes and not abiding to it will lead to disqualification.
  • The minimum on-stage limit is 5 members.
  • Teams are allowed to use props, but they must bring their own and are responsible for them.
  • Participants are not allowed to reveal/advertise their college; doing so will lead to disqualification.
  • Tentative Clause: (Round 0- Preliminary)
    • If the number of teams exceeds the capacity, a preliminary round (Round 0) will be conducted.
    • This round will take place in front of the judges only, with no audience present.
    • Teams must perform the same choreography in both Round 0 and the main stage performance (if qualified).
    • Based on the judgesโ€™ decision, selected teams will proceed to the next round.
    • Teams will be required to perform a 3-5 minute segment of their main stage choreography for the tentative round

  • By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by the rules mentioned above.
  • The results given by the judges will be final and only the Thapar Institute Of Engineering and Technology reserves the right to make changes to the result if needed, under extreme circumstances, and disqualify any entry at any time in the event, it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these rules or has acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
  • TIET reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act.
  • TIET reserves the right to cancel the competition in case of unforeseen circumstances.
  • TIET reserves the right to change the prize money before the commencement of the final round.
  • In the case of any dispute, the organizerโ€™s decision will be final and binding.
  • Date and Time are subject to change
  • The organizers are not responsible for the non-completion / non-occurrence of the event.
  • The organizers have all the right to cancel, reschedule, postpone, and amend the show.
  • Any equipment provided by TIET or any of its associates must not be damaged in any way. If damaged, must be compensated for by the liable participant/team.
  • In any dispute, the organizerโ€™s decisions are final and binding on the applicant.
  • The number of entries determine the deadlines.
  • Property brought by the participant is their own responsibility and not TIET or any of its associate's liability under any circumstances.
  • Prizes will be awarded subject to adequate participation. The organizing committee reserves the right to modify or withdraw prizes if participation is below the expected threshold.
  • The decisions of the Jury/Judges are final.
